Our Community Outreach

Our school is committed to giving back to the community, and we make that drive an important part of every student’s education. While training with us, you could have an opportunity to work on one of our many community outreach events. You might find yourself:

Helping give free haircuts to kids heading back to school and stocking them up with school supplies
Visiting a local school’s career day to help inspire students to dream big and view the trades as a launch pad for their future
Setting up at a local job fair and giving complimentary cuts to job seekers so they are ready for their next interview

JT’s Cuts Academy was built to help students build the technical skills, industry savvy, and real client experience they need to succeed in a future career in barbering or beauty. Each student who enrolls with us receives a professional-grade kit, branded backpack, and a JT’s uniform so they feel shop-ready from day one. In the classroom, they tackle theory before putting it into practice with paying clients, under the supervision of licensed instructors who work alongside students.

Our mission is to deliver quality, accessible education for students pursuing technical careers in the beauty industry. We aim to be recognized for graduating highly qualified professionals ready for immediate employment, and we do it in a culture that treats every student like family.

How We Teach

Lectures, mannequin practice, and one-on-one coaching lead to practicing services on real clients. Between services, students interact with an engaging curriculum and participate in trivia challenges. We want to teach students how to take care of clients by building both their technical skills and their customer service confidence.

JT’s Cuts Academy FAQs

Where is the school located?

You’ll find our school on Oakland Park Boulevard, in Oakland Park, FL, just minutes from Fort Lauderdale. We are easily accessible by public transit or I-95. Free parking is available onsite.

What programs do you offer?

We currently offer Barber and Restricted Barber training. Additional programs—including Cosmetology, Nails, Full Specialist, and Esthetician—are coming soon. Each program combines classroom theory with live-client practice to prepare graduates with the skills needed for a successful career.

How do you support graduates?

We offer lifetime support through our career services. Get resume help, portfolio reviews, mock interviews, or leads on local jobs. You can use these services whether you graduated last week or last year. We’re always happy to give you a hand when you need one.
