JT’s Cuts Academy Barber Program FAQs

How long does it take to complete the Barber Program?

The 900-hour curriculum can be completed in as little as 30 weeks with a full-time schedule or 45 weeks with evening classes. Progress in the training program is tied to how many hours you put in and the services you perform, so timeframes vary from student to student. A member of the admissions team can review your schedule options and give you a better idea of a program timeline.

Is Financial Aid Available?

Yes, financial aid is available to those who qualify. Options include Pell Grants, Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans, and VA education benefits. Your first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) online. Our financial aid team will then help guide you through all of your options.

When can I start my training?

We use an open enrollment system, so new barber students can start their training approximately every two weeks throughout the year. You can reserve a seat on your preferred start date after you complete the application and enrollment process. Seats are limited, so applying early will help you get the start date you want. Paying a $100 non-refundable registration fee secures your spot on your chosen start date.

What comes in the student kit?

Your books and supplies package includes the tools you’d need to work in a professional barbershop, including commercial-grade clippers and trimmers, shears, combs, razors, and more, along with student workbooks and textbooks. The contents may change to suit current industry trends, but you can get a complete inventory list from a member of the admissions team.

Do you offer job placement assistance?

While we cannot guarantee employment, we do offer career services that can help you find employment in your chosen field. Our instructors and faculty can help with tasks like resume writing, brushing up on interview techniques, and helping you connect with local employers looking for people with your skill set. This service is free and available to any student, regardless of when they graduated from our program.
